Partnering within Interorganizational Practice Committee

We successfully advocated for the Interorganizational Practice Committee (IOPC) to add a DEI liaison. As of October of 2023 - the CNC currently occupies this slot, Heidi Bender, Ph.D., ABPP is CNC’s representative to the IOPC. Dr. Bender served as IOPC Chair for a 6-month rotation in 2024.

Test Security and Third Party Observation

Dr. Bender serves as Chair of the Forensic Task Force on Test Security and Third Party Observers (TPO). Drs. Christy Hom and David Lechuga also provide CNC Representation as Task Force Members. As part of the IOPC Task Force, the CNC representatives have been actively involved in the creation of a discipline-wide survey regarding attitudes towards test security and TPO among testing psychologists. As part of the IOPC, the CNC has been actively involved, both as co-authors and providing incorporated feedback, in two recent papers on protective orders (Boone et al., 2024b) and attorney demands (Boone et al., 2024). Additional publications (N=3) are in progress.

IOPC Model Language for the APA Ethics Code Revision

Most recently, the IOPC Task Force has been involved in leading a response to the language pertaining to test security parameters and TPO in the proposed APA Ethics Code revisions.

Advocacy- to promote inclusion, ethics, and reimbursement in neuropsychology practice

  • William Anastasiadis led efforts along with CNC Co-Facilitators and practice workgroup members to submit a letter of support, including possible revisions, for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Value Pathways (MVP) as part of public commentary.

  • The CNC is actively working with the American Psychological Association in hopes of facilitating meetings with key state legislators to discuss the importance of increasing insurance/Medicaid reimbursement for neuropsychological testing.
